Finally I entered Finland. Again I tried in vain to wake up early, but it´s ok, I´m on vacation. I crossed the border, and as I wanted to get some taxes back I went to the border control. There I found a really bored police woman. I asked her if I could have breakfast inside, as it was very cold, and she let me. We talked a lot, and she even offered me tea.
I left, much later than what I had planned, and did around 40 km. There, I was told, was an open coffee place. Well it was closed. But a woman opened the door and said that I could use the outside tables. I was writing the blog there, when that woman came again with a coffee, saying that she felt really sorry that it was closed, and that that was the least she could do.
The landscape is finally changing, I even saw some forests! The lakes are still frozen, but there is much less snow. I saw lots of lemmings today. They are so aggressive I understand how it´s believed that they are suicidal, instead of running away, they try to face the cars.
I did lots of kilometers today, but I arrived to a couchsurfing host, in Ivalo. Olga and her son are really nice. They didn´t only treat me to dinner, but they also offered their sauna. It´s so great to be in such a warm place after two days of cold. They didn't speak english, but with good will we could get understood. I´m having a wonderful experience with couchsurfing. Thanks Olga!
My first day in Finland was amazing. People offered me tea and coffee, and at the end, sauna. I didn´t think I was going to be so welcomed in this country.

1 de Mayo – Entrando en Finlandia
148,29 km Karasjok – Ivalo
Por fin he entrado en Finlandia. Otra vez he intentado en vano levantarme pronto, pero no importa, estoy de vacaciones. He cruzado la frontera y como quería que me devolviesen unos impuestos, he ido a la caseta del control. Allí había una policía muy aburrida. Como hacía frio le he pedido a ver si podía desayunar ahí dentro, y me ha dejado. Hemos estado hablando un buen rato, e incluso me ha ofrecido té.
Me he marchado y he hecho unos 40 km. Me habían dicho que ahí había una cafetería que tenía que estar abierta. Bueno, pues no lo estaba. Una señora ha salido del bar y me ha dicho que estaba cerrado, pero que podía utilizar las mesas de fuera. Me he puesto a escribir el blog, y unos minutos más tarde la señora ha vuelto con un café. Me ha dicho que se sentía culpable de que estuviera fuera con el frio que hacía, y que eso era lo menos que podía hacer.
El paisaje por fin está cambiando. ¡Hasta he visto un bosque! Los lagos todavía están congelados, pero hay mucha menos nieve. También he visto muchos lemmings. Son tan agresivos que es normal que se crea que son suicidas. En vez de huir, les plantan cara a los coches.
He hecho muchos kilómetros, por lo que estoy muy cansado, pero he llegado a una casa de couchsurfing. Olga y su hijo son muy majos. No solo me han invitado a cenar, sino que también me han dejado usar su sauna. Se estaba tan bien ahí dentro, después de dos días de frio. no hablaban inglés, pero con unas pocas palabras báasicas podíamos entendernosEstoy teniendo unas experiencias increíbles con couchsurfing. ¡Gracias Olga!
Mi primer día en Finlandia ha sido fantástico. La gente me ha ofrecido té y café, y por la noche, sauna. No pensaba que este país me iba a recibir tan bien.

¡QUé gente tan amable! ¡qué bien te tratan!. Lo de la sauna tiene muy buena pinta. ¿No te fuiste a dar un baño en un lago helado después? jajajaja.
ReplyDeletePobriños lemmings, tan valientes enfrentándose así a los humanos y..........no saben que van a salir perdiendo. En fin, a ver si al menos nos hacen reflexionar ;).
