6th of May – Spring at last

It´s true that yesterday I was not in a really good mood, but today everything has changed.

When I woke up it was still raining, so I slept in. By the time I decided it was time to leave it was not raining anymore, and I could see some blue sky. I started going and soon it got quite sunny. Later on I even took my jacket and gloves off, and I´m only wearing one pair of socks!!

The landscape it´s amazing, still many forests, but now there are hundreds of little lakes too. I really like this area. I was in two little villages, and both of them had nice views, Paltamo and Sotkamo.

I was in really small roads most of the time, even thought there are not really big ones in Finland. For some km I was even in a dirt road. That’s what happens when you ask farmers for directions. But it was fun.

I keep asking for bookshops in every place I am, but I haven´t found The Little Prince yet. After Sotkamo, actually I started worrying about this and started obsessing with doing many kilometers fast, so I could get to Joensuu early and find the book. But a few minutes later I thought it was not worth. If I don´t find the book I have an excuse to come back to Finland.

I started enjoying the way again, as it was a nice spring afternoon, I took many pictures, and on top of that the road was quite flat so I managed to do a reasonable amount of kilometers.

I really enjoyed riding today, just with two layers of clothes and without gloves. I leave a couple pictures of the landscape.

6 de Mayo – Llega la primavera

Es verdad que ayer no estaba de muy buen humor, pero hoy todo ha cambiado.

Cuando me he despertado todavía estaba lloviendo, por lo que he decidido volverme a dormir. Para cuando me he levantado ya podía ver un trozo de cielo azul. Me he puesto en marcha y poco a poco las nubes se han ido disipando, hasta quedar un día perfecto. Hasta me he quitado los guantes y la chaqueta, ¡y solo llevo puestos un par de calcetines!

El paisaje sigue siendo increíble, muchos árboles, pero ahora empiezan a aparecer cientos de lagos. He estado en dos pueblitos con muy buenas vistas, Paltamo y Sotkamo.

Casi todo el día he ido por carreteras comarcales, aunque en  las carreteras nacionales también hay muy pocos coches. Durante unos cuantos kilómetros he seguido una carretera sin asfaltar. Es lo que pasa si les preguntas a unos granjeros la forma más directa de llegar a algún lado. Pero ha sido divertido.

Sigo preguntando por librerías en todos los pueblos, pero todavía no he encontrado El Principito. Después de Sotkamo me he empezado a preocupar, puede que no lo encuentre. Entonces me he obsesionado con hacer muchos kilómetros, para poder llegar mañana a Joensuu antes de que cierren las tiendas. Pero unos minutos después he pensado que no merece la pena. Y si no lo encuentro, ya tengo excusa para volver a Finlandia.

He empezado a disfrutar del camino otra vez, ya que hacía muy buena tarde, he sacado muchas fotos, y encima la carretera era bastante llana, por lo que he podido hacer bastantes kilómetros

He disfrutado mucho hoy, con tan solo dos capas de ropa y sin guantes. Dejo un par de fotos del paisaje.
