24th of May – Going south-west till Poland.

181,15 Vinius – Sejny
From the beginning of the trip till now I was going basically straight south, but now I will start going west too, to be able to reach Tarifa someday, in the next few weeks.
I left my friend´s house exactly at the time I wanted to, I don´t know what´s going on, but I´m keeping my planned timetable. It´s the first time in my life this happens for so many days in a row.
It has been nice to be in Vilnius, and I´m sure I will return. I know I said I was going to try to fix my bike here, but Emilis is quite an expert so he took a look and said it was good. He buys old broken bikes and fixes them, to sell them again. So I trust him when he said everything was fine. He even said that the bike was good, and that I made a good choice getting it for this trip.
He was really nice and took me to the limits of the city. Thanks to him I could do it much faster, without getting lost. He even accompanied me for several kilometers. It´s nice to cycle with someone, for a change. After he put me in a road where I had no chance of getting lost we said goodbye, and he turned around and I kept going.
The road till Trakai was big, busy and with not many place, so I went as fast as possible, but after I turned to a smaller road it was much more fun. The landscape was similar as before, I really like it.
On the way there were lots of constructions, so I learned a new word “Apylanka”, which I guess it means temporary way. I didn´t really cross many towns, and the biggest one, Lazdijai, was surprisingly well signed, I didn´t even have to ask for directions. From there in less than2 hours I was already in the Polish town where I´m staying, Sejny.
When I crossed the border I wanted to take a picture of the sign of Poland, with the EU symbol, I had even thought of how to take it, but there was none. Disappointed I entered the next country, and the first car that I saw was Fiat Polskie! They might not have a sign, but at least they show you typical things from the first moment.
I arrived to Sejny and I met my new hosts, two girls from Kaliningrad. They cooked dinner for me, and afterwards they showed me a presentation they were preparing on their home town. It was very interesting, I really had no clue about this isolated Russian territory.
I´m really thankful to them, and even more when at night it started raining really hard, after being sunny all day. I hope tomorrow it doesn´t rain.

24 de mayo – Yendo al suroeste hasta Polonia.
181,15 Vinius – Sejny

    Polonia promete. A ver...

    Besos.
