0 km (by bike) St. Petersburg
As I said before, now I´m taking a little rest. I´m done with a quarter of the trip so I´m enjoying a couple days of bike free time. But I walked so much, my legs are actually more tired than when I did the 199 km. St. Petersburg is a really beautiful city and it´s worth it.
I started the day visiting the Hermitage. It´s amazing. From the outside might not look much, but inside it´s unbelievable. It´s huge, and you would probably need a week to see everything, so I only saw the Siberian and Caucasus ancient artifacts, which I though, and are, quite unique. There are really interesting things in this small parts. Afterwards I just wandered around seeing the building, instead of the exhibitions.
Later I walked a lot around the city. I saw the statue of Peter the Great, and then I walked in the Nevsky Prospekt, the main street. I had lunch in a Russian fastfood chain, and I found a bookshop. In here I found The Little Prince without problems, even more than one edition. I bought two different ones. The “normal” version is different from other ones I´ve seen, instead of plain white, it has many colors.
I saw the cathedrals, St. Isaac, Kazan and Our Savior on the Blood. Only the second one was opened, but the last is the most impressive, or at least closer to the general idea of Russian church.
I kept walking, around the fortress and into St. Peter and St. Paul cathedral, where some members of the Romanov family are buried. Around the fortress, on the side of the river, there is sand, and as it was a rather warm day, there were lots of people sun bathing and playing volleyball.
I also saw the mosque, which is really unique. I almost got in, but one old man told me that I was not properly dressed, with shorts and sandals. Later I heard that they don´t let anyone who is not Muslim visit it, but my problem was different, maybe he thought I was Muslim.
There are many things I didn´t have time to see, and I got really tired, so I went back to the house of my hosts, where I enjoyed their great balcony, with amazing views. Later it was my turn and I cooked them dinner.
I took a hundred pictures of the city, but I´m only going to put a couple.

Como ya he dicho anteriormente, me voy a tomar un pequeño descanso. He terminado más o menos un cuarto del viaje, así que me permito unos días libres. Aunque he andado tanto que tengo las piernas más cansadas que cuando hice los 199 km. Pero San Petersburgo es una ciudad alucinante y merece la pena.
He empezado el día visitando el Hermitage. Es increíble. Por fuera puede que no parezca mucha cosa, pero visitarlo por dentro merece la pena. Es enorme, y necesitarías más de una semana para ver todo, así que yo solo he visto las salas de Siberia y el Cáucaso, sobretodo de la antigüedad. He pensado que es lo más particular y algo que no conocía. Después de ver estas pequeñas, pero muy interesantes salas me he dedicado a andar por el edificio, viendo los muebles y las paredes, más que las obras de arte.
Luego he andado por la ciudad. No me he sentado en casi todo el día. He visto la estatua de Pedro el Grande, he atravesado parte de Nevsky Prospekt, la calle principal. He almorzado en una cadena de comida rápida rusa y he encontrado una librería. Allí he encontrado El Principito sin ningún problema. Y he comprado dos ediciones diferentes. Son bastante diferentes al resto de los libros de mi colección. En vez de ser blancos, por fuera, tienen muchos colores.
He visto las catedrales de San Isaac, Kazan y Nuestro Salvador en la Sangre. Pero solo la segunda estaba abierta. La última es la más impresionante, o por lo menos más parecida al concepto de iglesia rusa que tenía.
He seguido andando, alrededor de la Fortaleza y he entrado en la catedral de San Pedro y San Pablo, donde están enterrados varios miembros de la familia Romanov. Luego he dado una vuelta por fuera de la fortaleza, y en el lado que da al rio hay arena. Allí, ya que era un día bastante caluroso, había gente tomando el sol y jugando al voleibol.
También he visto la mezquita, que es bastante extraña. Casi entro dentro, pero un anciano me ha dicho que no estaba vestido adecuadamente, con sandalias y pantalones cortos. Luego me he enterado de que no dejan entrar a nadie que no sea musulmán, pero yo no he tenido ese problema, tal vez pensaban que era practicante de esa religión.
Hay muchas cosas que no he tenido tiempo a visitar, pero estaba tan cansado que he ido a casa de los que me alojan, donde he disfrutado su balcón, con vistas de la ciudad y el mar. Más tarde les he cocinado yo, era mi turno.
He sacado cien fotos de la ciudad, pero solo he puesto unas pocas.

¡Como me gustaria conocer esa ciudad! ¡Parece tan bonita e interesante! ¡que suerte tienes, primo!. Haces bien descansar unos dias para disfrutar del lugar y luego volver con fuerzas a tu bici y al camino..........
