Today I saw how life is in a little village in Extremadura. It´s very relaxed, slow, and not doing anything from midday to the evening, to skip the hotest hours. It was actually fun, and I also could visit around with my friend, because he took the afternoon off.
In the morning I woke up at the same time as Aitor, and I kept him company while he had breakfast, but when he went to work, I went to bed again. A couple hours later I woke up and wrote some things for the blog, and I tried to get couch surfing hosts for the lasts days, but it´s hard. At least for tomorrow it seems impossible. I´ve checked a camping place just where I want to stop, but as I didn´t pay for 2 months, I will try to camp in the wild, again.
When I was done with these things I went for a walk around the village. It´s not especially nice, but I had a coffee and an orange juice in the main square for only 2 Euros. Then I went to the hills, and from there I liked the village better: it has great views. But it was getting hot, and my friend was going to get home soon, so I went home and rested.
When he came we went to get food to a place close by, but it was closed, so we went to the restaurant at the swimming pool. The food was good, but the best was to be able to swim while waiting for it. It was very refreshing and it made me hungrier.
Afterwards we went to the castle at Puebla de Alcocer. It´s very nice. It´s not reconstructed, because they don´t have enough funds, but anyway they don´t really know how it looked like. It´s great to walk inside, and climb to the tower. The views are incredible. At some point they wanted to do a very nice hotel there, but they didn´t, that´s why there is a very good access road.
The girl working there explained everything there is to know about the castle, and she also told us what we could see in the village, but we had already planned to go see some roman ruins. We started going, but Aitor decided to turn around, because he just changed the tires of his car, and he didn´t want to break them in not paved roads.
So instead we went to the dam, again, and rented 2 kayaks for one hour. It was lots of fun. We didn´t go far, but it took us a long time. We just talked in the middle of the lake, it was great. To go to the shore again we raced, but there was no clear winner.
We had a drink with his friends there, when they arrived from their jobs, and we went home for dinner. We laughed so hard while eating, saying stupid things, that my friend could not finish, because it didn´t feel good anymore. So I had more.
We were already ready to go to sleep, when I was planning the route and making the graphics for the elevation for the next two days, when Aitor started showing me his Iphone. It´s really cool. So many applications, and we even went to the roof to try the Startwalk. I actually learned a lot about constellations with it, in a few minutes, and we even saw a shooting star. And before we realized it, it was 2 in the morning, so we hurried to sleep.
So even though Aitor offered me to stay longer, I have to keep going. It´s true that I’m not going to get much sleep, but I can go more slowly and rest many times, and anyway, I don’t have a fixed destination for tomorrow. Actually I´m excited about camping again, even when I think in Spain is not as easy.

5 de julio – La vida extremeña.

Hoy he visto como es la vida en un pueblito de Extremadura. Es muy relajada y tranquila, y descansando durante una larga siesta, para evitar las horas del calor. Ha sido divertido, y luego he podido ver los alrededores con mi amigo, ya que se ha tomado la tarde libre.
Por la mañana me he despertado a la misma hora que Aitor y le he hecho compañía mientras desayunaba, pero cuando se ha ido a trabajar me he vuelto a la cama. Un par de horas después me he vuelto a despertar y hecho algo del blog y sigo intentando conseguir anfitriones de couchsurfing para estos últimos días, pero es difícil. Por lo menos para mañana parece imposible. He visto un camping justo donde quiero parar, pero después de conseguir hacer estos dos meses sin pagar nada por el alojamiento, voy a intentar acampar en el bosque.
Cuando he terminado con estas cosas he dado una vuelta por el pueblo. No es especialmente bonito, pero me he tomado un café y un zumo de naranja por solo 2 euros en la plaza central. Luego he ido a las colinas que rodean el pueblo, y desde ahí me ha gustado más el pueblo, ya que tiene unas vistas muy bonitas. Pero empezaba a hacer calor, y mi amigo iba a volver pronto, así que he ido a casa a descansar.
Cuando ha llegado hemos ido a un restaurante cerca de su casa, pero ya estaba cerrado, por lo que hemos ido al de la piscina a comer. La comida no estaba mal, pero lo mejor ha sido el baño mientras esperábamos, refrescante y encima me ha abierto el apetito.
Más tarde hemos ido a un catillo en Puebla de Alcocer. Merece mucho la pena. No está reconstruido, porque no tienen presupuesto, pero de todas formas tampoco saben cómo era exactamente. Se puede pasear por dentro y subir a la torre. Las vistas son impresionantes. Hace unas décadas querían hacer un Parador aquí, pero al final no lo consiguieron, por eso tienen una carretera de acceso muy buena.
La chica que trabaja ahí nos ha contado todo sobre el castillo, y también qué podíamos ver en el pueblo, pero nosotros ya habíamos planificado ir a ver unas ruinas romanas. Hemos empezado a ir, pero Aitor ha decidido dar la vuelta, porque justo acababa de cambiar las ruedas, y no quería destrozarlas por carreteras sin asfaltar.
Así que como alternativa hemos ido al embalse, otra vez, y hemos alquilado dos kayaks. Ha sido muy divertido. No hemos ido muy lejos, pero nos ha llevado bastante tiempo. Ha sido agradable charlar en medio del lago. Al volver a la orilla hemos echado una carrera, pero no ha habido un claro ganador.
Nos hemos tomado una caña con sus amigos, cuando han llegado de trabajar, y hemos ido a casa a cenar. Nos hemos reído tanto mientras comíamos, diciendo tonterías, que Aitor no ha podido terminar, porque no le estaba sentando bien. Por lo que me ha quedado más para mí.
Cuando ya estábamos listos para ir a dormir, cuando ya estaba planificando el camino y haciendo los gráficos con la altitud de los próximos 2 días, Aitor me ha empezado a enseñar aplicaciones de su Iphone. Está muy bien, con tantas cosas, e incluso hemos ido al tejado a utilizar el StarWalk. La verdad es que en unos minutos he aprendido mucho sobre constelaciones, y hasta hemos visto una estrella fugaz. Y sin darnos cuenta ya eran las 2 de la mañana, por lo que hemos ido a dormir.
A pesar de que Aitor me ha ofrecido quedarme más tiempo, tengo que seguir. Es verdad que no voy a dormir mucho, pero puedo ir más despacio y descansar más, ya que no tengo un sitio fijo donde dormir mañana. En realidad tengo ganas de acampar otra vez, aunque creo que en España no es muy fácil.
¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡HOla Hode!!!!!!!!!! ¡¡¡cuánto tiempo!!!! Te tenía un poco abandonado, con nuestro viaje de vuelta a España...Parece que el tuyo ya se ha terminado, estoy deseando leer todos los días que me faltan, y sobre todo, el último, en Tarifa, tu destino final.......
